# A song, on one card.

The clock of a song as a picture to share: square for a post, tall for a story with a key to reading it, on score paper or graphite. The app makes them from your own library; here you can make one from the demo song or any song in the [gallery](https://getpartitur.com/gallery/).

## Reading a song clock

1. **The rim is the song.** It starts at twelve o'clock, at the vermilion hand, and goes round once, clockwise. Its bands are the sections; the darker, the nearer to the chorus.
2. **The petals are the chords.** Each root has its place on the circle of fifths, so neighbours are related chords. The longer the song stays on a chord, the further its petal reaches.
3. **The shades are their roles.** Home (the tonic), away from home, the pull back home, and hatched: chords from outside the key.
4. **The vermilion arc marks the key**, and the hub says it, with the tempo and the metre.
